Our story
LDS Limousine began in Nice in 2012 with one car and one chauffeur. On the French Riviera, a transfer is not judged by the vehicle. It is judged by the fact that the passenger never had to worry.
2012: one car, one airport
It starts with LUXURY DRIVER SERVICES, registered with the Nice commercial court in April 2012, and a single vehicle. The first rides leave Nice airport, the busiest in France after those of Paris, for Cannes, Monaco and Antibes. The days are long and the clients few. At that stage every journey is worth two, the one being driven and the one it will trigger if everything goes well.
What grew the fleet
No advertising campaign lies behind that growth. It came from clients returning, hotels calling back, yacht crews passing on a number, Sophia Antipolis companies moving from a one-off ride to a standing account. Then the requests moved beyond airport transfers. Weddings, conferences, cruise calls at Villefranche, winter climbs to Isola 2000. Each new need meant one more vehicle, and one more chauffeur.
Around twenty vehicles today
Fourteen years on, the fleet numbers around twenty vehicles and a team of professional chauffeurs who know the region beyond the satnav. They know which Croisette accesses stay usable during the Festival, which Monaco streets close on a Grand Prix weekend, what state the Tinée road is in after snowfall. On a day when nothing goes to plan, that knowledge counts for more than the number of cars.
What has not changed
The price is quoted before departure and does not move, whatever the traffic, the hour or the flight delay. The chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall with a name board, the waiting time starting at actual landing rather than the scheduled one. These were the rules of the first rides in 2012; they apply today across the whole fleet.
A regulated profession
LDS Limousine operates under France's private hire passenger transport status. Chauffeurs hold the professional VTC licence, the company is listed on the national register of private hire operators, and the cars carry passenger transport insurance. The fleet is recent and serviced to manufacturer schedules.
Where we operate
From Nice, across the whole French Riviera: Cannes, Antibes, Monaco, Menton, Saint-Tropez, Sophia Antipolis, the hilltop villages inland and the ski resorts of the Alpes-Maritimes. Beyond that, long-distance journeys and runs into neighbouring Italy are booked the same way, on the same fixed-price basis.
