Beyond the Esterel, 60 km west: 47 minutes by motorway, from €180. Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël form a single basin, and access changes a great deal between June and September.
The price is set at booking and never changes, whatever the traffic.

The A8 westbound passes Cannes and Mandelieu, skirts the Esterel massif and reaches Fréjus at exit 38: 60 km in about 47 minutes. The Corniche d'Or through Théoule and Agay is one of the finest drives on the coast, but it easily adds an hour — a choice for a day out, not for a transfer.
From June to September the coastal N98 and the approaches to Saint-Aygulf and Port-Fréjus beaches load up markedly, especially on rental-changeover Saturdays. The motorway stays the better option to the last moment, and departure time weighs more than the route.
Port-Fréjus and its quays, the Base Nature François Léotard, the historic centre and Roman arena, Saint-Aygulf, seafront campsites and residences, and Saint-Raphaël next door, whose station serves the coastal line. Further west again, Saint-Tropez is reached by the same motorway.
The Zou! Express 90 line links airport Terminal 2 to Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël: the only direct public link, on a limited frequency and with your own luggage. Regional trains serve Saint-Raphaël-Valescure from Nice, with a connection from the airport. A private transfer remains the direct option, including early morning and late evening.
The Zou! Express 90 line leaves Terminal 2 for Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël; regional trains run via Saint-Raphaël-Valescure with a connection from the airport; a private chauffeur makes the direct link in about 47 minutes.
About 47 minutes for 60 km via the A8. The Corniche d'Or through Agay is more spectacular but easily adds an hour.
On the motorway, barely. It is the coastal approach, the N98 and the beach accesses that load up from June to September, Saturdays above all.
