Nice Airport to Monaco: the route and its catches

The 33 km take around 36 minutes via the A8, exit 56, then the drop into the Principality. The same motorway serves Menton fifteen minutes further on. The Basse Corniche is the fallback when the motorway clogs, but it runs through Cap-d'Ail and Beausoleil: prettier, slower. During office hours the bottleneck is the Rainier III tunnel entrance, not the motorway itself.

The Grand Prix changes everything

In late May the circuit runs through the city streets: Port Hercule is closed, Place du Casino unreachable, and some hotels can only be reached on foot from an authorised drop-off point. Allow extra time and give the exact address when booking so the chauffeur picks the right access. The Yacht Show, in late September, brings similar constraints around the port.

Where we drop you

Carré d'Or and Place du Casino, Port Hercule and its quays, Fontvieille, Larvotto and Monte-Carlo Bay, or the heliport for an onward connection. The Principality is crossed in minutes, but each district has its own access: the exact drop-off is planned beforehand, not on arrival.

Bus, train or chauffeur

The Zou! Express 80 line links the airport to Monaco and Menton, and trains serve Monaco-Monte-Carlo's underground station from Nice-Ville. Both mean a change, a timetable and your own luggage. With a chauffeur the car is waiting when you land and takes you to the exact address, including at 6 am or after the last train.

FAQ

Nice → Monaco with a chauffeur: your questions

How do I get from Nice Airport to Monaco?

Three ways: the Zou! Express 80 bus from the airport coach station, the train with a change at Nice-Ville to Monaco-Monte-Carlo, or a private chauffeur who meets you at the terminal and drives you to the exact address. Around 36 minutes by road.

How long does the Nice to Monaco transfer take?

About 36 minutes for 33 km via the A8. Allow more at peak hours and during major events, when entry into the Principality is filtered.

Is the drop-off the same during the Grand Prix?

No. The circuit uses the city streets: several accesses are closed and some hotels can only be reached on foot from an authorised drop-off point. Give your exact address when booking and the chauffeur adapts both route and arrival point.

Do I need a passport to enter Monaco?

Monaco is not in the European Union, but there is no border formality coming from France. You will still need valid ID for your stay and your hotel.

My flight is delayed: is the pickup still on?

Yes. Your flight is tracked live, the wait starts at actual landing and 60 minutes are included to collect your luggage.
