The 33 km take around 36 minutes via the A8, exit 56, then the drop into the Principality. The same motorway serves Menton fifteen minutes further on. The Basse Corniche is the fallback when the motorway clogs, but it runs through Cap-d'Ail and Beausoleil: prettier, slower. During office hours the bottleneck is the Rainier III tunnel entrance, not the motorway itself.
In late May the circuit runs through the city streets: Port Hercule is closed, Place du Casino unreachable, and some hotels can only be reached on foot from an authorised drop-off point. Allow extra time and give the exact address when booking so the chauffeur picks the right access. The Yacht Show, in late September, brings similar constraints around the port.
Carré d'Or and Place du Casino, Port Hercule and its quays, Fontvieille, Larvotto and Monte-Carlo Bay, or the heliport for an onward connection. The Principality is crossed in minutes, but each district has its own access: the exact drop-off is planned beforehand, not on arrival.
The Zou! Express 80 line links the airport to Monaco and Menton, and trains serve Monaco-Monte-Carlo's underground station from Nice-Ville. Both mean a change, a timetable and your own luggage. With a chauffeur the car is waiting when you land and takes you to the exact address, including at 6 am or after the last train.
